Sin Leads to Dangerous Destruction

The prodigal son part 1 shows that Jesus was clear when discussing the prodigal son and what happened to him after he left his father’s land. The prodigal son began to live as riotous as much as possible. David quotes it as “Den of Sin.” Thurston gives the example of how the dangerous destruction of living could be references to visiting prostitutes. The Bible is very clear about what happened to the prodigal son.

“And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.”
– Luke 15:13

In this parable taught by Jesus, symbolism plays a part. We as mankind are the younger son, the father is symbolic of God. In this part of the prodigal son part 1, Thurston will describe why the prodigal son will begin to be in want. Could it be that sin leads to dangrous destruction? You better believe it is.

The Prodigal Son and Today’s Society

Romans 2:8-9 states, “But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;” Paul states that those who are self-seeking will have terrible troubles in their life. Just by disobeying God, trouble will come.

The Prodigal Son Part 1 - Sin Leads to Dangerous Destruction 1

In the prodigal son Part 1, Thurston will describe how when sin enters that hostilities and anger being to build because of sin. When Isreal sinned and wouldn’t go into the promised land, they were angry against God. David is another example of one who committed a sin and became angry.

Luke 15 and Today’s Society

Satan is deceitful. He has to lie to get us to step away from the goodness that God has planned for all of us. When someone follows the lie of Satan, anger, rage, and wrath will follow. We see a connection to this in the “Summer of Love” that took place in Seattle in the Summer of 2020. We witnessed wrath, anger, and sin.

“But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile”
– Roamsn 2:8-9

Jesus taught in Luke 15 what sin leads to. Harship will follow when sin takes place. To quote David, “Sin never brings success.” This is very true. Sin grows like a ripple on the pond, and when someone follows Satan’s lies, sin grows. Jesus was casting a warning call to even though who live in our society today. For example, Seattle in the Summer of Love that lead to dangerous destruction.
