About Bear His Cross Podcast

I’m so thankful that you have found your way to Bear His Cross Podcast! The idea to start a Christian podcast was one that I did not take lightly. I have always loved sound Biblical teaching, but also discussing topics from The Bible with those I meet. As a college student at Northeast Alabama Community College, I would spend my time drive to and from classes listening to J. Vernon McGee. When I would have night classes, I would always try to catch Tony Evans or John McArthur.

After spending time working on a political podcast, I found myself getting burn-out. Through the craziness of all of the dumpster fire of politics in our country, I felt I was not serving the right purpose. I prayed about it and felt led to try to really focus on what matters, sharing Jesus Christ with all those I could. From that, Bear His Cross Podcast was born.

The story of this podcast

The beginnings of the podcast consisted of myself, and Pastor Thurston Garrett. We spent multiple episodes studying The Prodical Son and Jonah. If you have not listened to those, I recommend you do of course. After this time, Thurston had other obligations and work he had to do. I still felt like God had more work for me to do with this podcast.

I prayed about this and felt it was time to really focus my time on good Bible study, and then share with those who found their way here. While I hope to always give good lessons from The Bible, I am always open to your thoughts. As I stated before, I have always gleaned from others! That being said, I hope you enjoy Bear His Cross and will subscribe on your favorite podcast provider, and leave a review!
