Judgement in a Flood
We will learn in the days of Noah part 3 that mankind has become evil, one would even say violent. The days of Noah were very different than his 10th great-grandfather. Mankind was living much longer, and by this, producing more children. World populations would possibly be between 7 billion and 10 billion people. This is important to the upcoming Flood story.
Genesis 6:7 leads up to the story of Noah. The verse states, “And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” It is important to note that the world was not a better place, but much worse. Evil was present in the world. There are many that will scoff at the thoughts of men being this old, and the world being this heavily populated.
“And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
Genesis 6:7
Noah walked with God, and he now informs Noah that he is doing to destroy the world. Judgement in a flood is coming to the world. Now Noah has a large task at hand. To build an Ark. This ark was a new idea for Noah and his family because it had never rained before.
The Days of Noah Part 3: The Ark
Genesis 6:14 states, “Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” If you are a believer, you know that we do not leave this up for question. God has instructed Noah to build a lifesaving barge for man, woman, and everything land-based animal. This would include the small and great creatures. Two-by-two, male and female, this was the command given to Noah.
“Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.”
Genesis 6:14
So how did Noah get the animals in the Ark? If you listen to the days of Noah part 3, I will explain that God sent the animals to Noah. The tasks given to Noah was not easy, however, God had a plan, and give clear direction. Noah simply had to get to work.
Judgement in a Flood and the Ark
The days of Noah were some very troubling times. God commands Noah to build an Ark that is something to behold. It took Noah roughly 100 years to build the Ark. The days of Noah would have been long, hard-working days. What we will learn in The Days of Noah part 3, is that the dimensions of the Ark are at a 6:1 ratio. Here is why this is important.
“And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.”
Genesis 6:15
Shipbuilders today use this same reaction to build large massive ships to maintain stability. The blueprints that God gave Noah are still in use today. God’s plans are always best. Noah and his family are going to survive the catastrophic climate event, and build a new, but less world, after the waters drain away.
