The False Prophet: A Corrupt Counterfeit Jesus | Episode 16

the last days podcast series

The scripture references in this podcast come from Revelation 13:11-18. The false prophet in Revelation will be a corrupt counterfeit Jesus who demands the world worship the final antichrist. This counterfeit Jesus is found in other religions.

Satan’s counterfeit end of time prophecy speaks of the corrupt counterfeit Jesus, but not in the way Christians would see him. The false prophet shares the characteristic of this false Jesus of Islam, as discussed in this podcast.

The False Prophet and the Antichrist

The False Prophet will require those who are here during the tribulation time period to worship the last Antichrist. Much like the spirit of the antichrist, many false prophets have been in the world for some time. Podcast 16 will discuss the false prophet and his impact on the last days.

Jesus describes the events of false prophets in Matthew 24:24. “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” These false prophets may be capable of performing great signs. They may even be some type of spiritual healer. Believers will even be drawn away by these signs as stated by Jesus.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Matthew 24:24

The False Prophet that is described in the Revelation will not deceive the elect away from the true savior but will deceive the world. The world will be pulled away into idol worship of the last antichrist by the false prophet. Again, let us look to the counterfeit religion of Islam that will guide us toward what the world may look for.

Counterfeit Prophecy

As I stated earlier, any prophecy that is not in The Bible is a counterfeit prophecy. Satan has deceived many in this faith to believe in a false Jesus, and a false teacher, known as the Imam that will be the final antichrist in our world. This final antichrist will be heralded by a person who works wonders known as the “real Jesus” to the Muslim world.

Muslims believe Jesus lived, and they believe he did not die. He was ushered away into heaven much like Elijah where he sits with Allah today. Since Jesus did not die, he did not provide a sacrifice and therefore is not the atonement for our sins. He also was not resurrected, therefore Christians’ hope in him as atonement, and life-giver is false to the Islamic faith.

Islamic faith teachers teach that this false version of Jesus will return from Heaven to partner with the Mahdi or the 12th Imam. The Mahdi will discover “hidden scriptures” around the sea of Galilee that will teach Jews and Christians they are wrong. The “hidden scriptures” will then be used by the false prophet to teach Jews and Christians they were wrong.

The Counterfeit Jesus

To continue with this counterfeit doctrine from Isalm, the second sign is the return of their version of Jesus. This is Satan’s counterfeit Jesus that is spoken of by John in Revelation. In the Islamic system, the Mahdi is greater than Jesus, and yes Muslims believe that Jesus will come again, but not like The Bible teaches Christians. Let me explain.

This Muslim Jesus will have one purpose when he comes back. He is to assist the Mahdi. He returns as a radical Muslim. According to the Islamic end of time prophecy, he will arrive near Damascus. This false prophet will come back holding the wings of two angels who flew him down to meet the gathering army of the Mahdi.

The Islamic Jesus, known to Christians as the false prophet, will pray to the Mahdi. He recognizes the Mahdi as lord and will make a pilgrimage to Mecca. He will then lead all “Christians” to deny the Jesus of the Bible and to accept the Islamic Jesus. He himself will as Christ put it “deceive the very elect.” Jesus Christ the savior to Islam is nothing but a prophet and a man, so this Islamic Jesus will wake up those who followed him and teach them “truth.”

To continue in the Islamic end of time prophecy, the Islamic Jesus, a.k.a. The false prophet of Revelation, will establish worldwide Shariah Law. he will be an Islamic evangelist, and will be the final witness in the Islamic day of judgment against all non-Muslims. Because of his teachings, according to Islam, Christians everywhere will accept that they were wrong.

The False Prophet & His Followers

These so-called believers will repent of their belief in the Old and New Testament, and will now accept that the Jesus they believed in was false. The exact phrase in the Islamic prophecy states, “He (Revelations False Prophet) will shatter crosses.” This is a metaphor for the destruction of the church. As stated in the Sunni, “he will kill pigs (those who believe in Jesus Christ the Savior).”

The Muslim Jesus, the false prophet to Christians, has one final job. According to the Sunni, he will kill the Islamic antichrist. The Islamic Antichrist is the returning Jesus Christ. Do you see how Satan has made a counterfeit of the true end of times prophecy? The last days that we as Christians accept is the polar opposite of this counterfeit religion. Satan has deceived many with this teaching.

The Bible and The False Prophet

Let us now look at what the scripture teaches us.
Revelation 13:11-18 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exercised all the power of the first beast before him and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

And he doeth great wonders so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had the power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Revelation 13:16-17

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The false prophet will evangelize the antichrist. Islam teaches that this is the “real Jesus.” However, we as believers know that this is nothing more than a false prophet that was prophesied about around 2,000 years ago. It is my understanding that those of us who are here now and have accepted Christ will be ushered away before this person arrives.

Now that we have discussed the last antichrist, and the false prophet, the next podcast in this series will dive into the church of Revelation. Please join me next week where we will discuss the last days and the churches of Revelation.
